Occupational Health


Dr. Zagelbaum has been heavily involved in the medical care and management of firefighters, policemen, industrial and office workers with many different work related health issues and has also been involved in performing peer review and utilization review activities for various companies.  He has authored various books and other educational materials on work-related lung disorders, lung function testing, toxic exposures, building related health matters, tuberculosis, occupational asthma, asbestos, silica and various other associated subjects.  He has also given many seminars and education talks to claims examiners, attorneys and other health professions on these and other related subjects.

Our Expertise

Internal Medicine


As a physician who is a board-certified physician in internal medicine, Dr.  Gary Zagelbaum is dedicated to diagnosing, treating, managing and preventing disorders and conditions involving various organs such as the heart and cardiovascular system, lungs, kidneys and digestive tract.  He is often called upon to act as a consultant and provide assistance and guidance to other physicians to help them solve difficult diagnostic and therapeutic problems.  Dr. Zagelbaum has written many articles, presented research internationally and given many lectures on various internal medical disorders such as hypertension, cardiorespiratory disorders and many others including lifestyle management and modifications.


Pulmonary Medicine


As a physician who is board certified and subspecializes in Pulmonary Diseases, Dr. Zagelbaum is heavily involved in the medical evaluation, clinical care, and management of patients with a wide variety of pulmonary disorders.  He has authored several published books, manuals and articles on many pulmonary diseases including "Manual of Acute Respiratory Care", "Basic Arterial Blood Gas Interpretation", "Asbestos Related Health Issues" and  "Lung Diseases and Work".

Dr. Zagelbaum is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Department of Pulmonary Medicine at the UCLA School of Medicine and Associate Attending Physician at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he has been involved in teaching fellows, residents and medical students in various aspects of pulmonary medicine.  He has served as Chest Specialist at the Arther Ashe Health and Wellness Center at UCLA Student Health, Northridge Klotz Student Health Center at California State University and he has also been called served as a special pulmonary consultant for the City of Los Angeles Police Department in toxic exposure cases.
